With this recession it might be hard for consumers to be able to afford high-end labels and be in good financial standings. H&M is known for their fast fashion. With the collaboration with Matthew Williamson Consumers can still have that high-end designer look at an affordable price. I think it is amazing how a lot of high fashion designers are making more collaborations with the normal everyday girl retail stores. It's almost like you get the best of both worlds. Not only is this a smart move financially but it will make more room for other high-end designers to make collaborations with other fast fashion retail stores. Honestly no one shops the same anymore. The same consumers that usually shop at Yves Saint Laurent will now be buy the Matthew Williamson collection at H&M. Times are changing and the new trend is too mix those high-end labels with an affordable piece for that chic recession look.

The collection will arrive in H&M stores on April 23, 2009. Prices start from $25 for a pendant necklace to $ 395 for a beaded maxidress. Considering that merchandise from his top collection retails from $995 this H&M collaboration is a steal.

An unexpected connection.

I woke up this morning running late for my 8:00 a.m. class (contemporary trends in fashion). The conversation from the night before kept me up late but I got to hear his voice. I arrive with the usual: medium coffee with 5 sugars & cream and a blueberry muffin. Wow time goes by... I have so much time to waste until my (consumer behavior class). Hmmmmm SHOPPING ♥. YES indeed. All of the boutiques don't open until 11:00 a.m. I wait in front of "Stel's" a unique high-fashion boutique to open. Being the first customer of the day I get a warm welcome from the owner. And there it was an "Alexander Wang" distressed tank-top! I immediately try it on and before you know it... SOLD $$$

I spent and hour in Stel's having a conversation with the owner and buyer about my career in the fashion industry and which direction I plan to go in. You never know who you meet. She knows people that know people and they say it's all about connections connections connections. Let's just say a summer in the Big Apple I am not complaining. 

After school I went to Nordstrom. Brought some Black Ankle Booties. Later went to go pick up April's Issue of Vogue and some Cheeze- Itz.

Today was an amazing day and I am truly grateful.

I don't know what it is about this one but he appears to so perfect and unlike the others in a class of his own. You dress compared to no other and you draw attention in every room you enter. I always laugh and say to myself these girls must hate me. But together they will love us! Your bold responses keep my on my toes and well entertained. I love how you digg the shit out of me. From head to toe including my style. You look beyond this pretty face and into my true beauty that comes from within. We compliment each other so well and I want you to know I have your best interest at heart. We have so much more to ask and learn about one another. California Dreaming

I have this vision a dream. There is a journey that I wish to travel but I sometimes find myself questioning will I ever get there? I have all the ambition, patience, determination, originality and passion for this art that I love but is that even enough. As the days continue to go by I wonder sooner or later my leave of absence is about to dawn. It is now up to me to drive my future in the direction I plan to go in. Am I ready? to take on life's challenges by myself. It's funny because I had it all planned out. I wish things went as planned. Now for the first time I can admit "I don't have a clue". I know what I want and I know how to go out and get it. But the unsolved problems in my early childhood has forever shattered the confidence I try to portray to others. Then one day I said to myself "FUCK THIS".

I am a women of Class, Style Beauty, Motivation, Drive, and Determination. I am ready for life's challenges. I know I will be well on my way. My passion and love for this form of art is way too strong to leave it in the dark. No one has all the answers but I can say this journey that I am about to travel on it's mine for the taking. Someone once told me I was "the light that shines so bright" meaning i have something that others don't. There is a Star that lies beneath the surface waiting for it's time shine. Soon you will see.

Life is all about taking risks and so is the fashion industry all I can say is California here I come.

Hey Girl Hey

Today I had a very good day! I wake up and watch "Young And The Restless" and "All My Children". Totally love daytime television! I finally get out of bed and decide to get dressed so I can get my day started. I later get a phone call from my long lost good friend "RAYTIFA". I haven't spoken to her since Prom. We meet at Park ST. and walked to Newbury ST. to do a little shopping and catch up on life and talk fashion. First stop Marc Jacobs then LF, and Urban Outfitters of course! Sheesh all that walking and shopping got me hungry. Cheesecake Factory here we come. (The hour long wait was well worth it) From cheeseburgers to snickers and 70th anniversary cheesecake and the unlimited FASHION CONVERSATIONS I had a blast.

It was nice seeing you today girl and I wish you all the luck when you move to NYC to pursue those big fashion dreams of yours! I will be there next year so when I arrive please be ready to conquer "The Fashion Industry" & "The City" together ♥

So I wake up yesterday morning board out of my mind looking at my bank statements. I said to myself I can't spend anymore money. YEA RIGHT!!!!! that didn't stop me. It's so beautiful outside why not go on Newbury ST. My first stop was Urban Outfitters my second home. I walk in already knowing I am not walking out empty handed. I REFUSED. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED :) I brought a KIMICHI & BLUE Embroidered Poncho and Ecote Embroidered Leather Skimmers (flats) "I HAD TO GET OUT OF THERE" Next stop Marc Jacobs... hmmmm we all know what went on in there!

I don't know what it is like if I don't buy something everyday I go CRAZY! WTF this is so horrible and that's fine. FASHION FOR ME IS A LIFESTYLE MY CAREER. I will always be and forever be financially skrewed :) I AM PROUD TO SAY " I CHLOE AM A SHOPAHOLIC"
