Bring On Spring

Every year, somehow, spring takes us by surprise. It is of course, a pleasant surprise-not only because of soaring temperatures, but mainly because we finally get to wear and try on all our new and exciting clothes. Now that the New York Fashion week hoopla is over I'm sure everyone is dying to recreate those runway looks and start shopping for spring. This upcoming season I can tell that I will be into being head-to-toe in prints, trousers, chiffon tops, blazers, neon colors, peplums, metallics, leather skirts, and kitten heels. There's nothing I enjoy more than stopping into Stel's to see my best friends Justin and Jon while drooling over the outfit that Tina who has an amazing sense of style is wearing. Every time I step foot into the shop I'm like a kid in the candy store, I instantly want everything! Now that spring is right around the corner the shop has been getting in so many amazing pieces thus far, I absolutely LOVE this Suno racerback maxi from Stel's and it's definitely a must have!

Calvin Harris- "Feel So Close"

This song gives me so much hope, so much love, and makes my soul feel safe.
This is what dance music is all about people.

"I feel so close to you right now
It's a force field
I wear my heart upon my sleeve, like a big deal
Your love pours down on me, surround me like a waterfall
And there's no stopping us right now
I feel so close to you right now"

Alexander Wang: Fall/Winter- 2012/2013

There are key eras of the 20th Century whose fashions we look back on and romanticise, the Roaring Twenties is undeniably one of them. The social changes and restrictions of the era gave birth to a new type of woman, the flapper, and the fashions she wore. As we look forwards to 2012s fashion we’re increasingly seeing the case for a revival of the 1920s or at least elements of it. From a glance at this collection, Alexander Wang pushes the envelope with eclectic fabrication. Tweeds, suede's, and wool knits are waxed to create the sense of plasticity shiny outerwear. It's Wang's aesthetic; sporty, tough, and part tomboy looks, but this time around incorporating those elements while bringing together hints of military strictness and refinement of structure. Feminine details stole the spotlight as they were in chiffon drapes combined with leather, or silk fringing that turned throat-latching jackets into shimmying dresses. Using both the late and early 20s as a muse, this has to be the most literal hybrid of modern and flapper that perhaps we've seen to date.
