For Pre-Fall 2012, Nicholas Ghesquière didn't hesitate to push the envelope and left little to the imagination with this collection. Using the early 80's postmodernism as a muse, all of the bold colors, big silhouettes, and loud prints associated with the genre makes the high-tech fabrics, sharp tailoring, and muted colors in the end far out fun. There were jumbo zebra patterns, over sized pullovers, shoulder-padded coats, and pleated peplums, all in eye popping hues and styled to the hilt with humongo earrings, super-dark shades, and New Wave hair. Fashion is heading in an exciting direction as trend forecasters are predicting, if all of this sounds like over-the-top retro, never fear.
