Teen Vogue x StyleCaster Interview

Written November 11th 2010:
Its almost 8:30 am, I've been on this bus since 6:00 am this morning. Per usual I had a hard time getting up and out the house on time. I ended up falling asleep last night and waking up at 4:30 am. My initial plan was to stay up all night and rest on the bus. Clearly things didn't go as planned and I caught the bus by luck. My interview with Teen Vogue is at 11:00 am followed by an interview with StyleCaster at 2:00 pm. I still have to change and my hair isn't all the way straightened. As soon as I get off this bus I will be in need of the nearest Starbucks for coffee, a bathroom, and an outlet! From the moment I left Boston this trip isn't going as planned surprisingly I'm managing to remain calm and go with the flow. Words can't describe the way I felt walking into the Teen Vogue offices. It has always been a dream of mine to work in the fashion closet for the magazine or work there in general. Every moment of it felt right, I knew from the beginning that I belonged there. My interview was short and sweet, I knew what I wanted as soon as I sat down so I wasn't nervous at all. We talked about my future career goals, my previous internships, availability/start date, job description, and finally anything and everything so I would be remembered. After my interview I went to go spend some quality time with a close friend who lives in the city before and after my second interview with StyleCaster. We walked around the city, ate mexican food, and talked about everything. While I was in Union Square leaving the restaurant I seen my muse Agyness Deyn! she paused and stared at my Jeffrey Campbell LITA's I was wearing! I wish I would have stopped and asked for a picture.

Thank you everyone for all of your love and positive energy. I'm truly blessed and grateful for amazing people like all of you that believe in me. Its keeps me humble while motivating me to keep going. Friday morning, the day after my interview I was notified that Teen Vogue would love to have me as the winter/spring intern. I am so excited that I have the opportunity to work at Teen Vogue and most importantly work in the fashion closet. You all get to share this journey with me through my blog! Every week I will be documenting this experience through my "Diary of an intern posts". Keep reading and stay tuned!
